The 63rd London Film Festival took place on 2 – 13 October 2019, with its closing film being the latest Martin Scorsese film, The Irishman. The thought of the cinematic legends, Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro and Al Pacino attending the same event is likely to be a dream come true for most cinephiles.

Homeless Ashes provides that voice to the homeless whom its tagline references as being ‘homeless not invisible.’ Indeed, director and actor Marc Zammit spent time one Christmas volunteering with charities such as Crisis assisting the homeless in order to identify with the role of Frankie.
From Aurora’s captivating and humorous opening scene where its eponymous female protagonist is witnessed unsuccessfully hiding in a lift to escape from a one-night stand, it is obvious that this film differs to the traditional boy meets girl tale!
